EXECUTIVE ORDER 9785

AMENDMENT OF EXECUTIVE ORDER 9744B OF JUNE 29, 1946, PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE FURNISHING OF CLOTHING IN KIND OR PAYMENT OF CASH ALLOWANCES IN LIEW THEREOF TO ENLISTED PERSONNEL OF THE NAVY, THE COAST GUARD, THE NAVAL RESERVE AND THE COAST GUARD RESERVE

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 10 of the Pay Readjustment Act of June 16, 1942 (56 Stat. 359, 363), and in the interest of personnel, it is ordered that Executive Order 9744B of June 29, 1946,1 prescribing regulations governing the furnishing of clothing in kind or payment of cash allowances in lieu thereof to enlisted personnel of the Navy, the Coast Guard, the Naval Reserve, and the Coast Guard Reserve, be and it is hereby, amended by adding thereto a new section D, reading as follows:

"Section D. Cash Allowance for Enlisted Personnel of the Women's Reserve of the Naval Reserve and of the Coast Guard Reserve.

"1. Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph 3 of section C hereof, enlisted members of the Women's Reserve of the Naval Reserve and of the Women's Reserve of the Coast Guard Reserve, on reporting for active duty upon reenlistment subsequent to expiration of three months from the date of last discharge, shall be entitled to payment of a cash allowance in lieu of clothing in the amount of $200. Such enlisted members of the Women's Reserve of the Naval Reserve and of the Women's Reserve of the Coast Guard Reserve shall also be entitled to a special quarterly maintenance allowance for clothing in the amount of $12.50, payable on the first day of each quarter following the first anniversary of the date on which they report for active duty following reenlistment."

This amendment shall become effective as of July 1, 1946.
