AUTHORIZING THE DETAIL OF AN ARMY OFFICER FOR MILITARY DUTY WITH THE INSTITUTE OF INTER-AMERICAN AFFAIRS AND THE INTER-AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
By virtue of the authority vested in my by the Constitution and statues of the United States, including Title I of the First War Powers Act, 1941 (55 Stat. 838), as President of the Untied States and Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:
1. The Secretary of War is hereby authorized to detail on temporary basis an officer of the Army for military duty with the Institute of Inter-American Affairs and the Inter-American Educational Foundation, Inc., two Government corporations created by the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs and transferred to the Department of State by Executive Order No. 9710 of April 10, 1946.1
2. Any Army officer detailed for duty under authority of this order shall, while so detailed, retain and be entitled to all rights, benefits, promotions and status of an officer of the Army of the United States, or any component thereof.
