PROVIDING FOR THE COMPOSITION OF THE WAGE STABILIZATION BOARD
By the virtue of the authority vested in me by the Defense Production Act of 1950, as amended (50 U...S.C. app. 2061 et seq.), and as President of the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:
SECTION 1. Executive Orders No. 10233 (footnote 1) of April 21, 1951 (16 F.R. 3503), and No. 10301 (footnote 2) of November 2, 1951 (16 F.R. 11257) are hereby revoked.
SEC. 2. Part IV of Executive Order No. 10161 (footnote 3) of September 9, 1950 (15 F.R. 6105), as amended, is hereby further amended by revoking sections 403 to 410, inclusive, and by inserting after section 402 thereof the following new section 403:
"SEC. 403 (a). The Wage Stabilization Board created by section 403 (b) of the Defense Production Act of 1950, as amended, shall be composed of eighteen (18) members, who shall be appointed by the President by and with the advice and consent of the Senate. The said Board shall be composed in equal numbers of members representative of the general public, members representative of labor, and members representative of business and industry. A Chairman and a Vice Chairman of the Board shall be designated by the President from among the members representative of the general public.
"(b). In performing any of its functions, the Wage Stabilization Board shall be under the supervision and direction of the Economic Stabilization Administrator."
SEC. 3. To the extent that provisions of prior Executive orders or proclamations, or parts thereof, are in conflict with this order, the latter shall control, and any such prior provisions are amended accordingly.
SEC. 4. This order shall become effective on July 30, 1952.
