The Records of the Jackson County (Missouri) Election Board contain voter registration records dating from 1932 until 1956 as well as tabulations of votes in the 1948 election. There is one series in the collection. It is arranged chronologically.
The six voting registers in this collection include the signatures of Harry S. Truman, his wife Bess Truman, their daughter Margaret Truman, and Mrs. Truman's mother, Madge Wallace. Other Wallace family members are also listed. The registers list voters in Mr. Truman's precinct in Blue Township, Independence, Missouri, in elections held between 1932 and 1956. Although the complete registers are available for research, this collection only contains photocopies of the pages bearing the names and signatures of members of the Truman and Wallace families.
The collection also contains a tabulation of votes cast in each precinct in Independence in the 1948 general election.
