The President will sign H.R. 3370, an Act to provide assistance to the State in the establishment, maintenance and expansion of School Lunch programs, and for other purposes. Mr. Dickmann is returning, for the Postmasters Convention in St. Louis, on June 4.

The Rt. Rev. Charles Wesley Flint, Resident Bishop, the Methodist Church, Washington Area The Rt. Rev. Ralph A. Ward, Resident Bishop of the Methodist Church of Shanghai, China. (Bishop Flint wrote the President that Bishop Ward would be in Washington, at this time; stated during war he was prisoner of Japanese for over one thousand days and suffered considerably at their hands; that Bishop Ward knows China from many long years of residence. Bishop Flint suggested that the President might want to take a few minutes out to talk to Ward on China)
Mr. Murray J. Hancock, Branch Manager, Security First National Bank of Los Angeles (Wrote the President in March enclosing copy of his Honorable Discharge from Army showing he served in Battery F, 129th Field Artillery - said he was to be in N. Y. in May or June and would like to pay his respects.

State Department later asked if Colonel Eddy could accompany him. Colonel arrived by plane this morning bringing with him a letter to the President (in Arabic) from the King of Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Locke thought the President should see Trippe. Mr. Trippe would have liked to come "off the record" but Mr. Locke thought it would be best to put him "on record".)
