Jordan, Founder Mrs. Jacquelin Watts, National Chaplain Mrs. Dorothy Scramlin, Chairman of Committee for Gold Star Tag Sale Fay Scramlin, aged six David Harris, aged thirteen (The six-year-old girl will present to the President the first Gold Star Tag, opening drive. Proceeds from sale of these tags will be used for medical attention for children of men who died in service during World War II)

The President left Blair House for Naval Gun Factory, where he participated in Anniversary Week program of the Factory.
Then went aboard the USS WILLIAMSBURG accompanied by Mrs. Truman, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wallace, Mr. William Hassett, Mr. Charles Ross, Mr. Clark Clifford, General Harry Vaughan, Admiral Robert Dennison, General Robert Landry, General Wallace Graham, Mr. Charles Murphy, Mr. David Stowe and Commander MacDonald. Also the Secretary of the Navy [Francis P. Matthews] and the Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Fahrion. These guests joined the President and Mrs. Truman for lunch aboard and afterwards witnessed the afternoon's program for the quarterdeck. All guests departed the ship about 4.30 p.m. The President, Mrs. Truman and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace left the pier aboard the USS WILLIAMSBURG for a weekend cruise.
