Harry S. Truman represented Missouri in the United States Senate from January 1935 to January 1945.
This collection of the Records of the United States Senate (Record Group 46) consists of copies of bills, amendments, and resolutions that were introduced by Senator Harry S. Truman during his two terms in the United States Senate.
Included are many bills concerning military appointments, bridges across the Missouri River, and the granting of pensions to individuals. Other bills introduced by Truman provided for the establishment of a General John J. Pershing National Military Park, the building of a monument on the Civil War battlefield at Lone Jack, Missouri, and the creation of a commercial airport in the vicinity of the nation’s Capital.
