The papers of Harold G. Robinson include correspondence, news clippings, press releases, and printed materials depicting Robinson's life, his career in government, and policies and actions that directly referenced the career of Harry S. Truman. The collection is arranged in one series, a Subject File.

The Subject File contains information about the Senate Special Committee to Investigate the National Defense Program (Truman Committee). The file contains letters dealing directly with Robinson's service as Chief Investigator and resignation from the Committee staff in 1944. Letters between Truman and Robinson date from Truman's time as a Senator to his post-presidency period. The correspondence in the Subject File includes both letters received by Robinson, and copies of Robinson's outgoing correspondence. The Subject File also contains news clippings related to Robinson's role with the Truman Committee and as the Chief Investigator of the Senate Committee on Organized Crime. The clippings are from a number of newspapers and magazines all over the United States. The press releases address the activities and resignation of Robinson as Chief Investigator of the Truman Committee. The Subject File also contains printed material from the Truman Committee and a campaign pamphlet concerning Robinson's run for the California State Senate in 1956.
