Hurricanes

Unidentified people lined up outside a building in Key West, Florida, with damaged palm trees in the foreground. On September 20-21, 1948 a hurricane struck Key West, Florida damaging several of the buildings at the Naval Air Station and killing three people in the area.

The satellite Nimbus II as it tracks Hurricane Beulah across the Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico and into Texas for two weeks in mid-September 1967. This series of photographs is representative of pictures received by Apt. Stations located in the U.S., Mexico and Caribbean area as Nimbus II orbited over these regions daily.
