Original caption handwritten on the back of the photo: "A rear view of the clock tower shown in no. 3. On wall at left is elaborately painted sign of a drug store,' droguerie'. Crowds gather Sundays to see mechanical bronze men in tower strike bell every hour." This was taken while E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. was working in Bern, Switzerland for the Associated Press.
