Description
During his trip home from what he described as a "grand visit" to Canada, President Harry S. Truman viewed Niagara Falls. With the Canadian falls roaring in the background, Mr. Truman is shown shaking hands with Mayor William L. Houck of Niagara Falls, Ontario. "I'm glad I don't have to go over the falls in a barrel," the President remarked. The presidential special pulled up on the Canadian side to let the President and his family motor around the falls. Others in the photo are unidentified. Donor: Bjorn Bjornson.
